Before I start, I should declare that, my blog is defined as a bilingual blog. But it has being a very long time since the last time I wrote an English article, so I decide to have one this week, and keep writing English articles once two weeks. I will make a short conclusion in Chinese in every article's end. I want to do this because it is so hard to typeset two different languages into one article.
Now we go into the subject.
The recently biggest news about web security are Qihoo 360 versus Kingsoft and QQ security.
Qihoo 360 security (奇虎360安全衛士) and Kingsoft WebShield (金山網盾) has being competed with each other in China web security market for a long time. During the last week, Zhou Hongyi(周鸿祎/周鴻禕), board chairman of Qihoo, kept accusing Kingsoft WebShield in his Sina microblog of Kingsoft WebShield blocking Qihoo 360 security program . Then Kingsoft had fighted back with denouncing that Qihoo 360 security uninstalled Kingsoft WebShield without noticing PC users, and later lawsuited Zhou Hongyi of libel.
The battle is still on. Each one has many fans to support. However, it is a shame for these two web security companies. Because both of Qihoo and Kingsoft didn't pay attention into the innovation of product, but jam their competitor, which makes both of their products unreliable. Some people comment that"they are both bad birds."(兩個都不是好鳥)
While Qihoo and Kingsoft are fighting each other, Tencent lauched its new Web& PC security software, QQ PC manager(QQ電腦管家), which contains the same functions which Qihoo 360 security and Kingsoft Netshield also have. However, Tencent's most popular product, QQ, is discovered for scaning QQ user's local data and uploading them on the sly. If Tencent's most famous software is insecure, how can we trust Tencent's security software?
Many people afraid that the next battle between Qihoo and Tencent is on the way. The battle between Qihoo and Kingsoft is not over, now Tencent is about joining in. There will be nothing but chaos if they spend most of their energy into war of words.
中文小結：自上週來，奇虎360就和金山互相掐架，互相指責對方干擾自己軟件的運行。而騰訊公司趁機推出了自己的安全輔助軟件。然而，騰訊的招牌軟件QQ卻在後台偷偷掃描用戶本地信息並上傳。就目前的形式看，騰訊即將加入奇虎和金山，形成三國大戰。網友們擔心殺毒軟件商若是把大量精力都投入在跟競爭對手的口水戰，則無心做好殺毒軟件。
